Silent Lucidity (Goodbye)A Poem by MarlenaVent write. Review if you must, always returned.Let’s live in our own little worlds You can pretend you don’t see me Trapped here in silent lucidity I was far from perfect in your eyes I think, as time went on, you began to despise What you created, who I grew up to be Was it him you were proud of, but never me? You used to protect me from those nightmares I had You used to come in at night so I wouldn’t be sad You used to promise you’d always be there But your new life is important, so you don’t care Go ahead, I should probably say goodbye Don’t think badly of me if I start to cry I love you, you know, even if you don’t believe No matter how cold I act, I don’t want you to leave.
