Loveless

Loveless

A Poem by Marlena
"

~ An attempt at a sonnet. ~

"

My grief does sway me, this is true

on nights not still and swept along

I pray and weep over bloodied view

and trap my spirit's silent song

{A song so clear and sung for you}

But lost my silver star is still

forgotten peace and trembling hands

A far off dove in light; my will

shatters on your sunlit sands

collect my feathers, dreary love

you've won your fight, I've had enough.

-Redeem yourself, to say goodnight

Why kiss the morning yet hate the night?

To be my lonely angel, come

I shelter you, they have not won.-

This was supposed to be in Shakespeare format, but that just wasn't happening XD I kept going with it though because I really just needed to write, and this is what I got.

is it time to say "so long"?..perhaps for the last time...and yet you choose not to hate the night...perhaps because "they" have not won..or maybe because you have your faith in the dawn of hope...either ways..its an exquisite write!
excellent!!!!

I like this. Especially the last verse in italics..... and the opening line. It hooked me. The words are smooth and they flow sweetly. Well done. :-)
