Never Were

Never Were

A Poem by Marlena
"

just read it.

"

This cold December wind keeps blowing

And it’s taking you away

The air is freezing and

And I don’t know what to do

 But at the same time

I just don’t care.

So I sit and I wait

For an inkling to come

Maybe, just maybe

I can get a little direction

Way out here on the open road.

But there’s no one there.

There’s no one around for miles and miles

And miles even more, you know

There’s no one around for a world’s length

And I can’t take this anymore

So I

Scream

But no one hears

Why?

Because… no one’s there

And they really

Never were.

Author's Note

Marlena
"I ran away today, ran from the noise, ran away. Don't wanna go back to that place but don't have no choice, no way. It ain't easy growin' up in world war three never knowing what love could be you'll see, I don't want love to destroy me like it did my family. Can't we work it out? Can't we be a family? I promise I'll be better, daddy please don't leave. Can't we work it out? Can't we be a family? Promise I'll be better, I'll do anything."

venting. i think.
