My Star

My Star

A Poem by Marlena

It’s a tender touch we want to feel

To glorify or say what’s real

So we can kiss and love again

And come to laugh now and then

I wish to know you, here and now

So whisper softly, tell me how

I miss your eyes, that gentle stare

Your sweeping darkness, always there

A voice so sweet and tortured, sing

I’ll show you now, my everything

Can you help me forget this fate?

You are full of light, no more hate

I lost my path, my feet so sore

I tremble, sigh, can’t walk anymore

I miss you, baby, I'm scared to think

You’re no longer there, only ink

Memories can only go so far

I need you now, please be my star.

Beautiful. :) I actually thought that the ending was really cute! This poem flowed unbelievably well, and had a really gentle, rhythmic quality to it that I liked. I thought that this came across as so heartfelt and so full of love, and that was something that I could really relate to. Honest and down to earth. Nice work,

This is wonderful !$@ wow I haven't read your work in awhile but it's always been great . This piece is alive with tenderness and yearning. The ending is not crappy it's real .. I mean poems don't have to be perfect . I guess I just really liked your ending because it seemed genuine. Anyway your not dead that's for sure , awesome piece.
