Everything Left Behind

Everything Left Behind

A Poem by Marlena
"

......

"

So I ran away from all I feared

I couldn’t take facing this alone

Because I knew you weren’t there

So I ran away from everything.

I tried to be fast but…

Things just catch up in the end, I guess

And I tripped, I must have

And I think I must’ve dropped you

Somewhere along the way.

Forgive me,

I’m trying to find you again

Retracing my steps is so hard to do

When I ran so fast, I was careless

I forgot where it was I ran from

And everything I might’ve left behind.

Sounds like an apology to yourself....perhaps you dropped your muse in a hasty rush of day to day life...so now you are appealing to them for forgivness---so they may send inspiration!
Great piece of writing!
