Never Leave You

Never Leave You

A Poem by Marlena
"

Don't be afraid.

"

I can feel things pulling me apart

strings and chains and tendrils in the night

burning through skin, through bone and heart

like deep strong sunlight.

I see eyes in the night

I see fear in the eyes

I see a sky without light

and I see my own demise.

There's a person in the dark

there's a knife in his hand

a cut, a strangled invisible mark

and blood on the once ethereal land.

I can feel blood pouring out of me

I can feel it seeping through the ground

It's strange, a sense of fake ecstasy

I scream and it doesn't make a sound.

There's a person at my side

a hope that maybe I'll get through,

he grabs my frozen hands and says,

"Don't be afraid, I'll never leave you."

The poem shows how our bodies can be prisons for our emotions and only phyiscal wounds can relieve the emotions that battle with us day in and day out.

Your Talent has no boundaries. It never ceases to amaze, and captivate me. You have a future in writing, Aveira. Never give it up or put your pen down. The world would be at a loss if you did. You offer hope, and perhaps help others with your writings. That is an accomplishment. Be proud of it.
