Thankful

Such a hard year to get through

but, at least I had you.

Despite all these hard things

I'm ready for what the new year brings

I've got one thing, even in all of this

to be thankful for,

I've got you.

In the past year I've become someone new

But I got through everything with you,

and, in place of all the bad memories

and nightmares I've fought through

I always woke up, and eventually

found you.

I've got one thing, in all of this chaos

to be thankful for,

I've got you.

I've got you.

 

And when the leaves come tumbling down

around us all, we won't fall

we'll walk towards the sunset,

hand in hand, and we won't forget

what we're leaving behind.
