Violin Strings

Violin Strings

A Poem by Marlena
"

Deep in Endlessness, I hope.

"

You hold my face in your hands and lead me through the dark

eyes closed tight against fears I fear will harm you

Gentle instructions; where to turn, follow your voice

straight through shadows and oblivion and when light fails

I sit and wait alone, footsteps fading in the distance

Deep in endlessness I sit and hope

I pray

You return and I starve for you and those soft shadows you bring.

Angel feathers in your hair- violin strings and desperation

You are there, standing in the dark

hands empty and waiting for me

I have strayed.

Okay first two lines in the black/bold stanza are my favorites, followed closely by the first line in red. Hopefully I got this point across, but I want to know what you guys think. Let me know!

A very well constructed piece of poetic art, Aveira! It's nice having a pillar of strength in our lives, that will be there when we fall. To encourage us to keep going, and to guide us when we find we're in the dark. Excellent!

I deeply thoughtfull piece. the lines that grabbed me were :
'I pray
you return and i starve for you and the soft shadows you bring'

And now that i said that, i reread it 3 times...and the first 2 lines are wonderful as well.
I am torn between wanting the metaphor to be about lost love, lost self, or loss of innocence....or all three combined.
You have me in thought over this ....
I may have to read it a few more times to gleen a greater meaning within myself.

Great Job Aveira!...
