We'll Dance in the Darkness

Through the rain and the bitterness, the lights blink and fade out. You're the only Light I see now.

We dance

through the rain and the bitterness

the lights blink and fade out

your arms are around me

smiles on our faces as the lights go down

our hips sway

I look to you

the only light I can see

rain mats your hair to your handsome face

little droplets stick to your eyelashes

for a moment,

we are free and we dance in the darkness

because it is the only thing there

just as quickly,

the rain washes the dark to the ground

the lights remain

we laugh

we dance

every raindrop a stepping stone for our next move.

It's raining ^^ Or it was, anyway. I think this might just be my favorite poem that I've written. XP Why is it that it seems the rain is a such a good tool for every writer?? Oh well, I love this. And I love the rain. ♥

I think the rain helps us write because it sets the mood. It can be depressing but then there are times when the rain can be beautiful much like your poem. very good imagery thoughout the entire poem. great write!

This one I will have to read more than once to try to understand what you are trying to say. it is well written, but I am not sure if you are talking about wet rain, or emotional rain, or both. As I said, I will have to read this more than once. I usually do with very intense and strong lyrics. V

I loved the imagery ,it makes me imagine staring eye to eye with my lover in the rain.

It's such a romantic thing to dance with someone in the rain. I find that It takes away stressful cares for the moment. As you clearly showcase with these words...
