Soul Eater

Soul Eater

A Poem by Marlena
"

Are you ashamed? Your eyes are wide and nervous, inside of them a demon hardly tamed.

"

I hold your face in my hands

your smooth skin is bruised and broken

You cry and I wipe the tears away

Between us there are so many words left unspoken

Are you ashamed?

Your eyes are wide and nervous

Inside of them a demon hardly tamed

But you're a hero, truth be told

There is more to you

beneath an exterior so cold

A gentler side to you

despite whatever you do

There is someone to stand behind you.

A soul eater in other terms

You've captured my heart

You're strong but the table turns

I'll take care of you when your world falls apart.

*coughcough* Yeah...I know "terms" and "turns" doesn't rhyme, not necessarily anyway, but I like the lines. I actually really love this poem, it came to me when I was switching classes today XD I had to rush to class so I could write this down before it left me. I like this mainly because it's romantic but still saying, yeah, you've got faults but I love ya anyway XD

This is very poetic, and truly defines poetry. It takes someone special to see through someones strength and fine their weakness. Only to have them say...

"You're strong but the table turns
I'll take care of you when your world falls apart."

they rhyme well enough
i think rhyming is overrated anyways
'Inside of them a demon hardly tamed' is a great line, as is the last stanza
great write, keep it up
