Road to the DawnA Poem by MarlenaWhat's that Darkness you have on?
Road to the Dawn What’s that Darkness you have on? Could it be a faded memory from days gone by? Alone on your road You feel your heart has gone stone cold Fly away on tattered wings to the sky
You look to the sun
It seems this nightmare’s just begun While in your head and in your sleep You keep memories of the dead and fingers creep
Your eyes stray to the sky above
Asking for a saving light To guide you in your endless fight You breathe, you sigh Your spirit is tired but your heart is ready for one more try
In the end, all you want is someone to catch you
For recognition of what it is that you do Because in a world made of darkness and light There is always going to be a fight And when you are called on And you use that Darkness you have on People will whisper your name And you will hide your face in shame.
