Braving Newness

Internal furnace of feeling . . .
The fated footsteps of healing,
Dreaming that I was there, in the acrid air,
A dancer amid the flames of shame,
Washing the semen of sin from her hair.

I have never tasted the tone of atonement
Like I did when I witnessed you in all of your humanness,
A fallible man trying to understand his passion . . .
And I am confronted with the cessation of compassion.

Here I am now, looking in the mirror at my past too"
A shadow of armed charms and chained arms,
Beauty's burden never blessing, only bequeathing.

In the throes of dismantling this throne we have made our own,
We see our fears, masked in placid, pleasing, eyebrow raises,
To raise hell without saying a thing"just young marital phases?

But I love the lore of your tongue; so sweet you speak,
And I adore the arch of your feet as they beat music on the ground.
I cherish your core, the essence of your soul's sound,
A wave of brave truth.
I care to caress your character, ruthlessly reminding you of the man you are meant to be,
And I desire the daring delight of our shared nights,
Cuddled in our cocoon of destiny.
