Shake my hand Mr.PresidentA Poem by Centfie
'One hand alone cannot form a handshake just as one tree alone cannot a forest make'
I implore you Mr. President to really shake my hand We are progeny of the same mama, our Land Unparalleled is the visitors knowledge of our flora Besides, some brains have departed for the Diaspora I am The People; Sir, you represent The Country With our diversity, creativity, freedoms and free primary I am the common citizen with common problems Don't we find meaning in the same national emblems? We beg the government all the time, every time, we suffer- It is like crossing in front of your motorcade in drunken stupor. Why talk of peace when Tribalism is not abating? If the elections will be rigged, what is the point of voting? Do you feel the pinch of economy in your pocket? Or is it only noticeable through the national budget? The prices of used clothes have become preposterous Meagre taxed wages make costs of living enormous Please Rais, give it a day or two to shake my hand In its grip, texture, temperature, you might understand We could also have tea and non-political talk in Swahili As day follows night and night follows day we are family © 2014 CentfieAuthor's Note
