Spaces BetweenA Poem by Sophia MarieThese spaces in-between the stars have caught me, Raining attention. I hold a wooden leg that’s splintered. It flakes under pink nails, burrowing deep into flesh.
Hard pressed to shoot out into this free night sky, My eyes wander toward the brightest. The ones that flower, claiming their place.
Here the bloom comes, so swift sure; The certainty of an inner conscious being yelling, That one, pick that one! Under the blue glow.
Holy blue, sparking yellow, stream together; These eyes swirl the colors and collisions. Blackness Becomes direction in this sky’s night expanse.
Looking out to hold the nothing to this hand, I dream of worlds long beyond these dark sights. Their cold weight drips through this prism view.
As gold light beams out, breaching eternal dark, It colors the deadened spaces. Brings the life to brim over, spilling heavens cup. © 2012 Sophia MarieReviews
