The Dream of the CityA Poem by Sophia MarieThe Dream of the City
The city wakes, it breathes dimensions there is a nothing in the staleness of perpetuity, but also a tangible substance lingering within each moment.
Shaking sidewalks and transparent barriers roam each street, curb, and alley as she walks soaking in the depths of her peculiarities.
It’s as a red tipped rose with her jeweled limbs and tangent barbs, sharpened to perfection warding off predators, beyond a street filled with lights.
Diamond perfection in the cool breath of a dream, wishing and hoping is the ever winding scope, as the city churns out its comings and goings.
Some lost and some found as each person finds their way within the catacombs of interlaced dreams, the hope of becoming more than what was ever envisioned.
She alights with a glory undefined as if on high, careening beyond what possibilities were denied, breaking through to the endless spring of hopes charms.
At the tip of her thorn, the pressure reaches the ultimate pass of what each and every heartbeat desires; to reach the tipping point of every want and care, where lasting in forever is the only light desired.
To find the lift in the forever, endless wants that the city brings, all that she denies and all that she stands for; a possibility of what every and all careen for from the lights, a spot in the demands she sucks from her inhabitants’. © 2013 Sophia Marie |
