Her WallsA Poem by Sophia MarieSomething I wrote a few years ago after our poetry teacher had our class watch a brief film and write something in response to the images. Her Walls He laments her jeweled eyes dripping greens and blue, spilling upon the naked chipped floors. Hanging silhouettes and tethered corellas flap against the brick stone walls of paled screens.
Listening as the winds silently whisper, the trees shake, the grass dances and wavers as is spins In the sunlight, as the clouds roll over the shapes of sky. Cut glass and corroded corners fill each space.
Eating the woods, it grows, gold as red flames fan painted cacophonies that crumble as the wind falls. Her hands engulf the orange glow, breathing escape into each lightened wisp of the blazing suns core.
Rain smothers her core, washing each palm clean of soot blackened by the blood of a deadened scarlet rose. Swirling together her tears and smiles pool together in the house, As each brick tumbles beyond the shimmering emerald grass. © 2013 Sophia MarieAuthor's Note
