A Leveled Choice

A Leveled Choice

A Poem by Sophia Marie

As the choices were made, those times in moments of pleasure,

In affect became regrettable only to the resonating aura made from

The pain of conflict….

Slipping out of my clothes was like slipping off a layer of skin;

I melted into the icy waters, bare, exposing and peeling away the

Barriers I had continually laced upon myself, to lock in the ability

To free everything I had ever wanted to hide, deep within.

A window through to the soul’s re-attainment of a precious gift,

The records to that past and to what the future may hold, as time

Slips down the corridors of cold regret, there is a new path found

As the sun sets upon the open realm, there lies a final beginning.

Unrelenting, as the hammer drops and the levels shift, there is a blue

In the eyes of a sinners sapient regrets; the aspiration to hold only

What is true in the eyes of the ultimate enlightenment…purity of the soul.
