Heaven's Darkest Hue

Heaven's Darkest Hue

A Poem by Grey
"

First Poem in the work, "Songs for Kingdom's End"

"

Heaven’s darkest hue

you cannot touch, cannot breathe it in,

somewhere off the tumbled end of earth colors can’t begin, and light cannot be light" something never meant to be.

Land that never dies, or is never born at all, or never sees the sky rise,

and doesn’t watch it fall, the sunset and the dawn,

and wanders, and wanders, marching on and on

till all is lost and lost itself.

Heaven’s darkest hue never learned how to start,

and stands still and doesn’t speak to anyone,

so it won’t have to say hello or fight to say goodbye.

Don’t get hurt, I want to tell you,

but I know you can’t hear me anymore.
