I Am...

I Am...

A Poem by Scarlet Letter
"

An old poem of mine that actually got published.

"

I am the water

Innocent and gentle

But surprisingly strong.

I am the giggle

Starting silently

But growing in to laughter.

I am the solitude

On a Sunday afternoon

When the rain falls.

I am the memory

Never quite forgotten

But never clearly remembered.

I am the hand

Held in need

Or in trouble.

I am the smile

That crosses the face

When there’s nothing to smile about.

I am the tears

That fall

When a soul is lost.

I am the desolation

At the loss of innocence

In the world of today.

I am the cry

Of the starving millions

Calling for help.

I am the dream

Where only shards are remembered

When morning arrives.

I am the friend

You’ve always had

But took for granted.

I am the hope

That the world may someday

Be a better place.

this is so cool! this one was definitely good enough to be published. i love the line "I am the friend You've always had But took for granted". I believe that when you have that one true friend you should cherish it, because there aren't many like that will always be a true friend to you. I also love the line about the dream that only remembered in shards. very interesting visual. where was it published in?
