I Am...A Poem by Scarlet LetterAn old poem of mine that actually got published.I am the water Innocent and gentle But
surprisingly strong. I
am the giggle Starting
silently But
growing in to laughter. I
am the solitude On
a Sunday afternoon When
the rain falls. I
am the memory Never
quite forgotten But
never clearly remembered. I
am the hand Held
in need Or
in trouble. I
am the smile That
crosses the face When
there’s nothing to smile about. I
am the tears That
fall When
a soul is lost. I
am the desolation At
the loss of innocence In
the world of today. I
am the cry Of
the starving millions Calling
for help. I
am the dream Where
only shards are remembered When
morning arrives. I
am the friend You’ve
always had But
took for granted. I
am the hope That
the world may someday Be
a better place. © 2010 Scarlet LetterReviews
