Fear Known

Fear Known

A Poem by Song of Mercy
"

Surviving the Fear

"

The tires were quickly eating the ice paved road.
The curve approached with ever increasing speed.
With tears and stark terror, a weight, a heavy load,
I thought ever darkly, I thought we would hit a tree.
With moments as hours, I saw the curve begin.
The tires tapped the edge and in the air we went.
Driving on two wheels, mom was sobered again,
With skill the truck came back to all fours, bent,
But drivable, we slowly headed home.

Wow! This one had me feeling as tensed as the driver of the truck. Great job.

I like the way you put the reader at the edge of the seat with you. The fear you portray is very vivid. You accomplished that which you set out to do....making the reader feel the same fear, great work.
