Crawling

Crawling

A Poem by Song of Mercy

I crawl the dumpster,
Looking for offerings,
Looking for sustenance,
Looking, I crawl in the night.

I crawl for I am an outcast,
I am a sparrow without song,
I am worthy but defeated,
I am worn, I am alone.

I crawl slowly from life,
From each weary week,
From each weary day,
From this weary hour.

You have done a good job with the imagery in this. It reminds me of a homless person. Not just any homeless person, because some people have choosen and love that life style. but this person was successful at one time and now has become what they feared the most. Good job. Phantom

Well I have had feed back from various sources and like the first review they generally gave me the same answer. I have revised and wondered if you could tell me what you think this poem is about/means?

Thank You

I had some good imagery to it. The roach thing led to it being oblivious to life around us.
