Living in Today

Living in Today

A Poem by Song of Mercy
"

addressing destructive thinking

"

The morning dawns, the sun rises and yet,
The night is all I see screaming at my eyes.
The choice is mine; I’m an eagle I will fly.
The truth of choice sings, her song is free.

I eat that which feeds the day, I choose and yet,
I still hear the night, notes screaming in my eyes.
I will work for my freedom, renewed I will fly,
I hear dawns rising flames, new birth, I am free

Love that last line!
Very beautifully written with a strong structure and strong images to accompany it.

Cheers.

Wow! I really liked this. It was really powerful and full of so much emotion.

"I hear dawns rising flames, new birth, I am free"

That was probably my favorite line in the entire poem. It was really beautiful. Great job with this!
