Thoughts on the death of family

 

 

   

“Life is but a moment,”

Is what she said to me.

“I’ve given all I have;

This is what’s meant to be.”

 

Life is but a moment,

In a moment she was gone.

I’ve missed her but a moment,

The moments been too long.

Short but to the point...a brief reflection of death, or, moreover, the passing of the moment that is life. It's strange sometimes, how one moment can seem so long ago, as if it passed by so quickly, and yet at the same time can still feel so close, as if it lasted an eternity. Perhaps I am reflecting on my own personal experiences with death with that thought, but I felt the second verse portrayed that concept. Anyways, I thought this was well written. Bravi.
