More Than FourA Poem by Sonakshi AroraChildhood cancers get only 4% fundings and the rest go for adult cancers. If that isn't outrageous then I don't know what it
One morning I heard some news
Which shattered my heart I was left distraught, disturbed and damaged That cancer tore another family apart A few days later after the mourning My town was left shook One more frail life was stolen By cancer, oh the crook! And then these kids went one by one And all gilded hopes had faded No cure was found for them to live Their lives had been invaded So every night I close my eyes And very quietly pray To give those families strength and courage That will lose a loved one today And after a prolonged battle I see the members heave a sigh They gather around the little one To say a last goodbye Cancer is a monster, a savage one Is what I'd like to say And with zero cures as of now These young lives go away Gross fundings and lack of knowledge Is why we have no cures And the fire inside me screams to say These kids need more than four! © 2018 Sonakshi AroraAuthor's Note
