The Girl Who Had CancerA Poem by Sonakshi Arora#weneedmorethanfour #gogoldforchildhoodcancer #gogreygogold
There was a child who lived ahead
A few streets away from mine She had lovely hair and a big smile She was everyone's darling sunshine Every single day you could see her laugh Boisterously spreading love around Everything about her was serene Her looks, her eyes and her sound But one day I couldn't see her And she wasn't around for a while But even when she came back home She had lost her infectious smile She became very weak and pale And there were golden strands everywhere And when you picked them up and saw They were her lovely hair! There came a time when she no longer could talk or even speak She had become very thin and skinny And you could see the bones on her cheek There was nothing that could be done now And she was tired of the long fight Imagine being told that a four year old Had passed away last night! Medicines had now become her friends And chemotherapy didn't make her hide But we all knew no matter what One way or the other, she would've died And so I'll tell you the reason for her death Because 0 per cent was her cure rate And if you don't want one more like this Stand up and donate! © 2017 Sonakshi AroraAuthor's Note
