To My Grandfather In Heaven

Cancer is horrible :(

My grandfather was a lovely person
He was my mentor, my maven
But now that he has left us all
Here is a poem to my grandfather in heaven

Everytime I used to go to my grandfather's house
To receive us ,he'd walk up to the gate
And I'm here again in front of the house
He hasn't showed up and it is getting late

His favourite game was solitaire
He would always be glued to his phone
The desktop is gathering dust
And the iPad now sits alone

He would always be curious
And loved to watch me create art
And today when I sit with my materials
I am waiting for his questions to start

He savoured eating sweet items
And loved to eat mangoes
And today when I eat one
He isn't here to treat his nose

He was always an ardent gardener
And grew so many flowers and fruits
He was the tallest one and broke the ripened ones
And now we just stand and stare at the roots

He was crazy about buying clothes
And loved wearing bright shades
And now I watch all his shirts sitting alone
And the colours are about to fade

He was always energetic
A determined fighter I knew
I was never strong to resonate my feelings
So I'll write and say "I love you"

Hide and seek was what he loved to play
And he would use to hide in the room behind
But want an expert he has become now
It has been so long but I can't seem to find

He loved to play Tetris and he did it all night
And never a scolding was feared
And just like the blocks reacted when they fit
My grandfather just disappeared

He was a blissful person I knew
And was happy even in coma
But you knew who did this to him?
Mantle Cell Lymphoma

And if at all he's reading this
I'll tell him he isn't away
I know his physical presence has gone
But his soul shall always stay

You can't imagine what cancer did to him
He was never really stable
Cancer took all over him
And turned him into a vegetable

He fought cancer like a boss
And died at around eleven
So here's an ode I give to my
Grandfather in heaven

If a writer feel nothing when he/she writes a poem then the readers will feel nothing when he/she hear it or read it.....so i think there should be a connection between a writer and a reader, and i feel very emotional when i read this beautiful creation because my grandfather also died because of cancer..
Really this creation is unbelievable, unimaginable and amazing......you are like a painter of your thoughts and imagination.Keep it up..

yes you are right...we can not do anything against nature and science...we have to accept the reality..

By reading this I can see that you have filled it with all the emotions you had in you. Truly beautiful. I am sorry for your loss . But at the same time I think your grandfather was happy to have such a nice granddaughter who could write something about him and remember him in such a loving way.
Losing someone you love is the most painfullest time to go through but it's reality all of us have to go through it, so living a jolly and great life would at least leave you satisfied that you lived a happy and blessed life. I pray that God may give you patience.
