Why Do We Hesitate To Say NoA Story by Sonakshi AroraWe can never decline no matter what...
I've always felt a sense of embarrassment to decline for an offer or to a help. I've strained myself for long hours just because I lack the basic ability to say a simple two letter word "No".
As we've evolved, we've been taught that saying no is in fact a sign of your rudeness and your selfishness. Saying no automatically makes you a self proud and a prudent person. Now here's the thing , whenever we ask someone and that person automatically declines it , we tend to create a biased opinion of that person not knowing the reason behind the no. Now here's an example. For example You ask someone for ice cream out and to your horrors and disbelief, they say a no. Here are the things that probably go into our minds after that: •He doesn't like my company •He's broke •He is reserved •He is self centered Now here's what could be the real reason behind it: •HE IS LACTOSE INSENSITIVE We can never say no because this is what we think others do after we say no. And this isn't because the times have changed it something like that , we've always been taught this way. As I've progressed along, I've realised that it is actually very normal to say no. It is okay to stand up for yourself and defend yourself. What you need to learn today and propagate from onwards is that it is completely fine to say no to protect your self esteem and your health. I completely understand that the word no can destroy so may feelings, but it is high time we understand that there may be a valid reason behind the decline. Let us be courageous enough to keep our self respect and say NO. © 2017 Sonakshi AroraAuthor's Note
