One Day You'll Grow UpA Poem by Sonakshi AroraLooking back to the nostalgia..
One day when you'll grow up
You'll see these times in bits and pieces When we'd stand upon tables in breaks Or smuggle Tiffin boxes in between Or laugh after scoldings And fight for the best football You'd share a laugh after reminscing The times of full fledged singing And midnight studying episodes Or those subtle hints of exams hall And that deafening silence of defeat Those random teasings and leg pullings You'll move yourself to tears When you come across those old and dusty Yet bright friendship bands and rings And your farewell uniform Which holds thousands of signatures And millions of memories When you'll miss those scrumptious dishes And that food stealing episodes And stuffing mouths while lectures going on You'll miss those brutal morning assemblies Where you'd stand with your friends With hands raised as a punishment But you're too little right now And all of this seems to normal It happens all the time and maybe And some point you're just fed up of it But trust me my love You'll see these times in bits and pieces One day when you're with your friends Sharing a laugh about it And you'd want to live those days again The carefree lives one last time But sadly that won't happen because One day you'll grow up © 2017 Sonakshi AroraAuthor's Note
