Monsoons

Monsoons

A Poem by Sonakshi Arora
"

My first free verse attempt!

"
As the droplets of water hit my window panes
I gaze outside in amazement
To see the sky go from blue to black
And the creepy crawlies come out
While others rush to take shelter
The cacophony of the rain soothes
And calms down the heat, the rage in me
And blooms up the forlorn leaves
And the hopeless flowers drooping
There is something about the Petrichor
That fills my room with serendipity
My walls echo with the shrill voices
Of the messenger of monsoon; the cuckoo
The winds that blow around
And lift up the heaviest of souls
And makes lovers buzz around
The song of romance in this weather
There is something about the rains
That cleans up the air
Like it cleans up our hearts
There is something about monsoons
That make me crave for it
And fall in love with every drop of it
Like my own tears.

The awesomeness in your words and the beauty of monsoon both are mind blowing.

Certainly There is something about the rains
That cleans up the air
Like it cleans up our hearts

The only word that I have for this poem is "awesome". This is a very beautifully written poem and honestly speaking I just fell in love with the ending. The way you ended the poem was very beautiful.

Beautiful. I love rains too and this is exactly how I feel. I loved each and every line. When we write about something that we love every word comes from within. ☺
