What is Pain?

What is Pain?

A Poem by Somu
"

Do you ever ask yourself? What is pain?

"

What is Pain?

I asked life ‘What is pain?’

Life replied wait and wait.

The day came when she left,

Allowing myself to make my grave.

I was not ready for this day,

I felt broken with waves of vex.

As I drowned day by day,

I recall that I was going through hell.

It’s time to free myself,

As I went up the roof and jumped at a count of twelve.

I asked pain ‘What is life?’

Hello, Somu.

This is a unique poem. I enjoyed reading it.
I have one question, however. i noticed that in the first line the words "What is pain?" are put in speech marks.

Is there a particular significance behind the fact that in the second line when life replies, "wait and wait" are not in speech marks as well?

The rythem was off, but I really like how intense it is, and the way you switched around the first line to make the last line was really cool.

This is very provoking. I have felt this way before and no words only provide mild consolement to the physical pain a loss creates.... it feels as if part of your body has been ripped from you and the pain is unbearable... I hope things are improved

Cool poem, I really liked the idea. You ask life what is pain and then you ask pain what is life. Nice on, keep it up.
