a sublime dream

a sublime dream

A Poem by athena

                   THE DEPTH

From the deepest depth

 I recalled

The blissful state of the dream world

I journeyed

Into the mythic lanes of antiquity

The night

That twilight night

Chilly and gusty

The echoes

Shaking the nerve root of the earth

I arrived

At the aboreal courts

The trees gnarled with freshness

Of floral scent of primal days

With sublime sounds of ethereal songs

Under the gaze of mystic moon

The caves

Filled with echoes of arcane sounds

In the ancestral shrine

Mellow, mute, in orgasmic sphere

I felt

The fresh fragrance of virgin blood

Filling the air with innocence

Following fading echoes of laughing lads

I asked

Have I the alchemy to murder transiency

And woo eternally generic emery

With the jostling gargle of nature’s glee?

No!                                                 evanescence echoed  in eerie sounds

Flounding me with fiendish mien

And I returned

To the solitary stare of reality

Yes! To the sparkling gaze of dawn
