My Nightmare
A Poem by Some John
My worst nightmare My son and I were sitting At our favorite fishing spot It was an overcast sky Not to cold And not to hot Just a nice calming breeze Rippled this secluded little bay Our faces kissed by the sun Was a picture perfect kind of day I was asking him random questions Laughing at his six year old replies He kept brightening my soul With that twinkle in his eyes It was my worst moment In all my thirty five years His eyes light with sincerity And mine welled with tears Was just after I asked When he grows up Just what he wanted to be My heart beat still His innocence and sincerity Wanted to be schizophrenic "Just like me" |
