With/out YouA Poem by Somber Eyes
It seems that we met at the worst possible time
We were living on different sides of the line We tried to fight our feelings, but they continued to grow Before too long, it was impossible not to let them show The way we looked at each other, it was clear for all to see The feelings that I had for you and those you had for me Whenever we were together, our love would radiate But nothing could protect us from what was lying in wait For two long years, I was sent away But I still thought about you every single day I would close my eyes and I would see your face Such beautiful perfection that nothing can erase I'd lie awake at night and I would call your name Wondering if maybe you were doing the same There wasn't a single day that went by That your absence didn't make me cry You told me that you loved me so You loved me enough to let me go But now I'm running back to you You're the only one who was ever true I can't help but wonder, do you feel the same? Do you still love me or has something changed In all the time that has since passed? I'm desperately hoping that you want me back I see the way that you look at me But I can't tell what you're feeling, it's a mystery I know I have put you through so much pain And you don't want to go through all of that again I can see in your eyes, you're wondering if I'll leave But it was a mistake that I don't plan to repeat I plan on staying by your side from now until the end Now I'm begging your forgiveness for a past I can't defend If you take me back, then I will make it up to you I'm not sure exactly how, but I'll do what I have to To keep a smile on your face as long as I'm alive And to protect you from pain, I don't ever want to see you cry I'm waiting patiently for you to tell me where I stand I know that this is not the future you have always planned But I can be the one to make all of your dreams come true And you would do the same for me as long as I'm with you © 2013 Somber Eyes |
