What A Terrifying World

What A Terrifying World

A Poem by Somber Eyes

I see days of grey
Somber shadows, too
And every night is dark and cold
When I can't be with you
Now I think to myself
What a terrifying world

The pain erupts within
And it brings me to my knees
The lightning and the thunderclouds
Descend upon the trees
And I think to myself
What a terrifying world

With so many awful people
Opening their mouths
With all these brain-dead idiots
Who knows what might come out
They spew their vile hatred
Drenching everyone around
It suffocates the good in all
It kills without a sound

I want to close my eyes
But I'm afraid that it's too late
I've seen them poisoning the Earth
I've seen our gruesome fate
And I think to myself
What a terrifying world

I wish I could forget
All of the things that I have seen
I wish I could wake up
And realize it was a dream
But I'm not that naive
I've seen this terrifying world

I think to myself
What a terrifying world
