Mustaine

Mustaine

A Poem by Somber Eyes
"

The man may not be gone, but the legend (and his mind) sure is...

"
Rest in peace, Dave Mustaine
The man you were is gone
Do you even remember him
Or has it been too long?
You've changed all your views
And you've changed your beliefs
Now you're gladly supporting those
Who used to cause you grief

You used to say
"Military intelligence
Two words combined
That can't make sense"
You used to say "peace sells"
And ask who's buying
Now you thirst for war
And endless dying

Where did you go?
What happened in your head?
Is the man I thought I knew
Still there or is he dead?
Is there time to save the man
Who saw through all the lies?
Or has he sold his soul
And is now what he despised?

Rest in peace
Dave Mustaine
The man we knew is gone
The man that's left has gone insane
Rest in peace
Dave Mustaine
The legend is no longer here
What's left is just a stain

In my darkest hour
Black curtains have been drawn
Five magics cannot save the man
When his mind is gone
The legend now remains
In Hangar 18 of Area 51
He's nothing but a memory
The damage has been done

Down the killing road
A tornado rages through
Spilling blood of heroes
The punishment is due
Counting down the hours
'Til extinction is at hand
The man has gone insane
And this is how the story ends

Rest in peace
Dave Mustaine
I'd hoped you'd never exercise
The right to go insane
Rest in peace
Dave Mustaine
The legend has been youthanised
He'll never be the same

Rest in peace
Dave Mustaine
The man we knew is gone
The man that's left has gone insane
Rest in peace
Dave Mustaine
The legend's just a memory
And that's all that remains
