Rooftops

Rooftops

A Poem by Somber Eyes

You sit upon the rooftops
While I'm stuck on the ground
Are you calling me to join you
I don't hear a sound

Maybe you're talking about me
Maybe it's best I don't know
Maybe you're all laughing at me
Maybe I should just go

Maybe my place is not with you
Maybe my place is at home
Maybe my heart doesn't like it
Maybe my heart can't stand being alone

I wish that you would just tell me
Exactly where I belong
I wish I knew why it is that I feel
Everything I do is wrong

I wish I could find my self-confidence
Then I could join all of you
Sitting up on the rooftops
Where all that is spoken is true
