The Death Of Love

The Death Of Love

A Poem by Somber Eyes

The passion lasts only so long

Before you know it, the passion is gone

When everything you do is wrong

You start to wonder if you belong

Or is your place somewhere else?

Your love, once solid, begins to melt

You know you're on a trip to Hell

And soon you hear the funeral bells

The passion gone, now nothing remains

Burned to ashes amidst the pain

Tears are falling like the rain

Love sent off on the midnight train

You're all alone, or so it seems

Indifference split up the team

Alone amidst your tortured screams

This is worse than any dream
