Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Somber Eyes

Death awaits your final move

Ending all your solitude

Loneliness it could be said

Drove that bullet into your head

What follows next is in slow motion

Ending all of your devotion

Your love was never fully returned

The flame in your heart ceased to burn

Eternity of isolation

Showing not one inclination

Of life beyond these inner walls

Nothing here to stop your fall

Reminiscing of the past

All the times that did not last

Each memory abruptly ending

The inner pain never mending

Black is all you see ahead

Behind you, all you see is red

Pain and misery, fear and hate

Seething in your mental state

Insanity it will be said

Drove that bullet into your head

Never tell the truth so crude

You were killed by solitude
