Can't Let Go

Why do I need to be here

Living in this sorry state?

There's nothing for me here

Nobody who can relate

I spend all of my time

Living in the past

So sadly reminiscing

All the times that didn't last

The times that I could laugh and play

The times that slowly slipped away

I never thought those days would end

I never thought I'd lose my friends

But now everything has changed

My life has been rearranged

Too quickly it was ripped apart

I'll hold those memories to my heart

I wish I could go back

To the way it was before

I didn't care what the future would bring

Didn't know what was in store

I spent all of my time

Just hanging with my friends

And I never thought for a single second

That those days would ever end

The times when we would talk all night

'Til the morning broke and the sun shone bright

Spending weekends at the mall

And thinking that we knew it all

The days so quickly pass me by

And now I sit alone and cry

For all the times that didn't last

I still can't let go of the past
