Weight of Two

Weight of Two

A Poem by Soma-ko

Fill my flask with ink and liquor,

my gourd with a single string

from a violin, a Koto, a harp

and a thread from your dress.

Which do you think is heavier?

The flask holds our emotions

that have yet to take form,

the gourd holds our lyrics

we have yet to give words.

Which do you think weighs more?

The tears leaked from our

emptied bottles of drink, or

the blood that flows from

the strings we’ve encased.

Which doesn’t really matter to me.

In the end, I’ll consume both.

Fill me with ink, lace the cords

on my finger, your thread, dip

it in liquor. Let my poetry sing

you melody, our sad little lullaby.

This poem is very unique. I believe that this was meant to be dark, but i can see the light in it too. Thank you for this outlook.
