Her Soul, My HeartA Poem by Soma-koLove is a deceitful illusion that we all come to enjoy.A space, In between the
rifts of time, Laid her soul so
bare, That could not be
bind. I stared in angst,
at the woman of my dreams, As she looked
blankly back, with a glossy gleam. Her eyes so lucid,
yet they were, so real, Mocking my
incompetence, I could do nothing but feel. Her soul beckoned
me closer, knowing I could never reach it. It was closer I
went, falling into and endless pit. And abyss so
shallow, compared to her soul, And incessant
fall, it felt so droll. Farther and
farther I fell into the abyss’ stomach, Losing sight of
her soul, which I promised to fix. And inane promise
was what she entailed, It was only my
life that became derailed. A space in between
the rifts of worlds, Laid her soul so
cold, No one could ever
reach it, Not even the bold. A smile flickered
across my lips, As I lost sight of
her soul, something I couldn't fix. A smile of sorrow nestled
its way on my vacant face, My heart was what
she stole, and tore apart from my soul. © 2013 Soma-ko |
