Calypso's Curse

Calypso's Curse

A Poem by Solilokiss

Each morning she comes to haunt me
This lady of my dream
With a daunting Edvard Munch face
Whose harrowing echoes scream

Inside my mind of ire
Her screams of nature unfurl
Her tongue of blood and fire
'Cursed Calypso!' calls this girl

'Tell Zeus who speaks of freedom Hermes
That herewith am I entrapped
Upon this Isle of Odysseus
With that in which I lack...'

'And burn the beauty of the bounty down
For he who wears the crown
Would rather suffer his ecstasies
Than to sup upon these grounds'

'What now must I offer, Zeus?
Send him wine that he might drown
And bread to fulfil his every whim
Yet you burn Calypso down...'

Each morning she comes to haunt me
This lady of harrowing verse
With her daunting Edvard Munch face
Calypso has been cursed

Author's Note

Solilokiss
Inspired by the classic art piece of Edvard Munch, 'The Scream Of Nature' and Calypso of Greek Mythology. It's how I'd imagine her twisted face and hell to be, and the torments of injustice she unfurls. She is not a happy chappy in this. I hope you like.

Thank you so much. I appreciate the feedback and very much look forward to reading you :)
Artwork and poetry is amazing. Myth and story are my favorite. You had both. I don't believe the Gods will know real peace. Nice visions create by the outstanding poetry.
