That Never WasA Poem by SolilokissMy heart was born in Fairytale A place near Idle Whims Ghouls and goblins knocked on my doors Yet I never let them in Then one night as I lay in whimsied dream Came an alien to my town Sullen footsteps strolled upon my floors His lighted princess had been found My eyes awoken with a start My ribs then shattered and bore apart To reveal the quaking vibrance of my heart He touched it (gold) I've never been the same As he whispered gently of his name And asked if I'd like to play a game I should have cried no but 'yes' I could not refrain From the taunts and tensions his tongue campaigned For just as soon as he came, he left this town My heart wasn't 'golden' and bore no crown Still the tears, they keep on rolling down For the Fairytale that never was That dream of 'us' held so long ago Still a marriage alive within my soul My heart no longer beats where warm blood doesn't flow Just a carriage of rumpled, stilled, skin. No glow. My heart was made golden by his blinding touch. © 2013 SolilokissReviews
