Dreamwaves

Dreamwaves

A Poem by John Dennis Gillespie

Fall asleep in the ocean and let the sea carry your dreams.
Float in peace over the ocean, this is not a mind as it seems.
For this is my ark that I made from withered seams made
for fantasies that we started and thrown away.
I'm going to do what your not; hope if you won't.
Scream while you whisper; sketch all my songs.
If you got a dream that you're giving up; give it all to me.
I drew my thoughts on the cracks in the walls and made a plan to change
the man that I was.
I had a troop of friends who loved the world way more than themselves,
and we went out chasing dreams on dreamwaves.
We were chasing dreams on dreamwaves.
