Remembrance

Remembrance

A Poem by T.A.Rogers

Over, downward, cascading

As do waterfalls flow from the source.

Forever over the edge,

Though to be brought back,

Rebirthed to mind

At the end of long descent.

Though long in blackness

Do streams fall to earth

Wherever they may touch and pool.

Some sweet as summer wine,

Some stagnant in pain and remorse.

Through and through they course and pool

Over years, few drops are lost,

In steam that stings and burns painfully

Upon the naked flesh of the mind.

Or to ice that freezes the heart of the world.

Love stopping as blood freezes

In lieu of a heart no more.

In love and light.

In fire and blight.

Rising mist swirls.

Spectres emerge from darkness.

In remembrance. . .
