Tears Of The MakerA Poem by T.A.RogersTears Of The Maker
Life moves on with hurricane force Even as the weak are trampled on Values and morals from times long passed Are swiftly replaced by all that is wrong. Victims are we of cataclysm; It seems now that martyrs die in vain. All that was once good slowly dies away As darkness proclaims its untimely reign. The human life now has little value As human logic sets the pace. The unborn now have no right to live And many never see their mother’s face. The value of gold and silver Is now worth more than a soul As those that take what they want Slay those that take an honest role. And the Maker’s tears do fall to earth. For a brief moment time stands still. Though sorrow cannot overwhelm undying love, His heart is broken, His faith stilled. The Maker’s tears do cascade down Though His children take no notice. They forsake their souls for an earthly crown. Forgotten is the Maker in lieu of earthly purpose. Dreams of old are slowly forgotten To those that flee sorrow’s morbid tune. Reality they choose, sadly, not to bear. They seek refuge within a needle and spoon. Cold steel swiftly shatters the love That brothers in spirit once did share. In hate they seek to devour one another. Instead of seeking answers in love and prayer. Wasted lives and blackened earth Tell the tale of those that oppose The normality we as society have set. In our enlightenment we create only foes. Fairy tale heroes are uplifted And our young adopt their worldly views. While true heroes are dismissed: Their deeds forgotten with the morning dew. ©T.A.Rogers 20080226
