A Tear Does FallA Poem by T.A.RogersA Tear Does FallDarkness on the world in light of day That light soon would push away. The Maker's tears do fall to earth: A high price paid for light's rebirth.
Innocent, pure, light within, Though the Maker's Son would die for man. Broken in body though righteous in soul To His destiny the Son of Man did go.
There is a story that time does tell Of the cross that bore Him well; The sigil that stands 'till day's dark end Above the plains of mortal sin.
To a hill was led a man Cursed to die by law of land. Though no fault was found in He He was nailed to a cross on
So badly broken of bone and blood, But to wash the world in mercy's flood. Love and light did dwell within From which darkness flees 'till time's swift end.
On rough hewn timbers pierced with nail Innocent blood flowed and fell. For each drop shed a soul was cleansed. In each fallen tear there was love without end.
One life given to make amends For countless others in evil's den. But in love's promise, risen once more For glory's call in Heavenly lore.
Now beside a great throne sits He In endless bounds of great eternity Where those whose hearts He shares shall find a place In a city of paradise and eternal grace.
