Dancing The MinuetA Poem by T.A.RogersDancing The MinuetOne past night I had a dream That seemed to be more than it seems. It was such a warm setting So colorful and bold. It was of a romantic nature I saw you there Dressed in such beautiful attire. Such a rosy shade of passion. Such a warm cloak of desire. I took you by the hand And I began to twirl you On the glistening dance floor. I looked into your eyes And told you that I love you As I whispered sweet nothings The people there began to gather round Watching with great content As the night carries on And we are still watched from all sides For the circle hasn’t broken yet. As the long minutes comes to a close There is an aura of bliss And I meet you halfway in a dip The night is coming to a close And we end it in a kiss We end in a hug and a sigh. With the night not yet subsided I awoke from my blissful sleep To find you standing beside my bed Watching contently over me. I lay you down beside me And hold you close and tight. And this way we stay Throughout the long night We meet one another in our dreams And its a night that we will never forget As we twirl around the rosy room As we dance another long minuet.
