If I Die Before I Wake

If I Die Before I Wake

A Poem by T.A.Rogers
"

If I Die Before I Wake

"

If I die before I wake,

I pray the Lord my soul to take.

If I die in my sleep,

I pray that my family shall not weep.

If I die in lights wake,

I pray for your own sake.

I pray that you live and learn to give,

Strive to lead, be born again.

I pray for you to understand

That even though I've been dealt death's hand,

That I'll be here always and help you to never stray.

I'll teach you to learn from my mistakes.

If I die by fault of myself,

I want you to know that I wish you well.

I'll pray that you never fade away.

That you'll be here to see another day.

I'll miss you all, but someday we'll meet again.

I'm always with you until then.

If I shall die by nature's hand,

Or be slain by the sword of man,

I wish you all the very best

And pray that you have no regrets.

For even if I’m gone by morning's light

And never see another night

I pray that you remember me and never forget

That I am with you until the very end.

And also the if you live not to see another day

I pray the Lord your soul to take.
